We are having a serious heat wave in the mid-Atlantic, and I'm even falling short of staying hydrated. But I found a great article on the Mayo Clinic website today that has some good reminders about hydration. Check out my [runners' nutrition tips for more, but here's a highlight:
-The 8x8 rule: The adage about drinking 8 glasses of water 8 times a day is probably a good idea, but from a health perspective, it is the total fluid intake that counts. So remember that juice, gatorade, and even coffee and tea count toward the total.
