Well, I'm enjoying my visit to Chicago, and this morning I had a little more time, so I added another mile or so to my run and went down to Navy Pier. It was closed and pretty quiet, except for some construction, but even going out partway gives you a nice view of the skyline.
I have visited Navy Pier at night on previous trips to Chicago, and I recommend it at either time, whether full of people in the evening, or relatively empty in the morning.
It's also nice to see how well the runners and bikers on the lakefront pathy are able to accommodate each other--better than I've seen it in some other places.
Even if I only had time to run for half an hour or so, I'd bring my running shoes. It's great to have an opportunity to see the sights.
Happy Running!
