Runners: Treat Your FeetIn the wake of my post about the corn on my toe, I thought I'd dedicate a few days to ways to treat your hard-working feet. Elevating your feet above the level of your heart promotes circulation to the area. So next time you stretch out on the sofa, put a few pillows under your feet to get them up high. But what's even better, in my opinion, is this yoga exercise: Viparita Karani, also known as Legs Up The Wall Pose. Here's how to do it: -Put a towel or mat along a wall space or door. -Lie down on the mat with your hips right up against the wall. -Swing your legs up the wall so they are flat against it. your upper and lower body should form about a 90-degree angle. -Place your hands on your chest or alongside your torso, whatever feels comfortable. -Relax, and stay in the position for about five minutes. It may seem weird at first, but your legs and feet will feel rejuvenated. Here's to happy feet!
